Ethica Corporate Finance advised Mediolanum Farmaceutici in the acquisition of Neopharmed by the American group Merck Sharp & Dome Corp.

Mediolanum Farmaceutici, founded in Milan in 1972, is a player in the pharmaceutical sector active in development, production, and distribution of drugs for different therapeutic areas.

Neopharmed is an Italian company focused on the marketing of pharmaceutical products, founded in Milan in 1934 and acquired by Merck Sharp & Dohme in 1984.

Alessandro Del Bono, CEO of the Mediolanum Farmaceutici group, commented: “The acquisition of Neopharmed is an important sign of how it is still possible to invest in our country despite an economic situation that is certainly not favorable and an ever increasing pressure to contain expenditure health”.
