Ethica Debt Advisory advised Brianzacque S.r.l. in structuring a financing directly provided by the European Investment Bank
Ethica Debt Advisory advised Brianzacque, sole manager of the integrated water service of the province of Monza and Brianza, in structuring a financing directly provided by the European Investment Bank.
Since 2003 Brianzacque is the only operator of the integrated water service of the province of Monza and Brianza, with approximately 3.100 km of water supply and almost 2.700 km of sewage system. Brianzacque has been the first company asking and obtaining the financing as part of a program dedicated to Italy, taking also in account the resilience to climate change. The financing will cover almost 40% of company’s investment plan in the five-year period 2017-2021. In detail, the economic resources will be used to build new 9 and to refurbish 75 water wells, to increase by 5 km and to redevelop 8km aqueduct networks. On the sewerage side there are 21 km of conduits to be built ex novo and 20km to be restored.
Enrico Boerci, Chairman of Brianzacque, commented: “It is a great result, not only for the company, but for the whole of Brianza. Local water infrastructures, like those of the rest of Italy, need substantial investments to be extended and improved. In this context, the EIB financing represents a major opportunity to build a low-cost financial provision, able to cover the needs of the territory for the next five years. Brianzacque has been the first company accepting the opportunity of a specific European Union funding, thanks to the soundness and reliability of its projects, mainly aimed at counteracting climate change effects and, more generally, an investment program deemed worthy of being funded”.
